George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation 1789 - lest we forget
Thanksgiving and Christmas can be the most miserable time of year because there is so much suffering that goes unnoticed while everyone gives thanks for all THEIR blessings. Meanwhile your neighbor, friends, and even family are barely staying afloat. Don't roll a stone on someone's heart. True Thanksgiving is done within the quiet confines of your heart. But let us not forget the great men and women who fought to give us this religious freedom and what better way to commemorate this than by revisiting Washington's Proclamation in 1789.
